Hunan Royal

Last night we ate with my aunt and uncle at our favorite chinese restaurant, "Hunan Royal." Needless to say last night's dinner brought back memories from long ago, but we also remembered the time we ate at Hunan Royal-less than a year ago:
On the evening of November 5th, 2009 after Ken’s first chemo treatment, we ate dinner at a Chinese restaurant on Tesson Ferry called ”Hunan Royal.” It was in this place that Kenny and Lisa first met. Ken was helping out the owner (his friend) with the busy New Year’s business by being a host. Lisa had New Years plans with a friend that got cancelled due to illness. Finding herself all dressed up with no where to be, decided to grab some dinner at a local Chinese restaurant… Hunan Royal. Kenny seated Lisa in a booth on the far wall…

Oct. 12-New Carpet!

During the past two weeks we've been working on renovating our house in preparation for some new carpet in the bedrooms and new stone floors in the kitchen and living room.
Here were the plans:
All of our bedrooms are going to be moved into different rooms, so to do this we would need to build a new doorway in the basement. We would also have to pack up all of our belongings and move ALL of our furniture from ALL 5 bedrooms and try to stack it in the living room. We would be staying at a friend's house nearby since our beds were piled away. Then, we would need to paint 4 of the bedrooms and also buy and paint trim for the rooms and closets. After that, the carpet could be ripped out and installed by the professionals.
The carpet was finally installed yesterday! It has been quite a job, but we've had a whole lot of help from the LaMottes and our relatives.

10/10/10: Lydia's 2nd Birthday

Last Monday we "celebrated" Lydia's 2nd birthday-ever since we've gotten her December '08 she's brought a lot of fun and joy to our family.

She's a pretty smart little cookie as well! She knows about 35 different words which include the names of everyone at the house, our neighbor down the street and his dog and names of various places throughout the house. I've trained her quite a bit with some commands and it's pretty amazing how fast she can learn something new. I can teach her a new trick in 36 hours.

I already sound like a freaky dog-lover, but she really does "fill" a place in our family with lots of laughs, love and joy.

Death

On Saturday, August 28 at 6:10pm our Dad, Kenny Wong joined his Creator. His passing was very peacefull and he wasn’t in any pain.

His blood pressure had fallen slowly throughout the day, but the nurse still expected him to last until tommorrow. However, he was in a peacefull sleep and was breathing easily when suddenly he gasped and he was gone.

The time and location of the funeral services will be posted on this website whenever they become available: http://www.kennwong.wordpress.com/
