Family Reunion

Drove down to south east Missouri for a family reunion of the Henson family. I brought along a family tree posted to a bulletin board and I was able to get a lot of genealogy information from another researcher and I also got copies of photos. I will be posting a few stories I’ve found in our family tree that may prove to be interesting.

We had a fun time riding our bikes around the small town with our…cousins. (Here’s a tip: When in doubt about how someone is related to you at a family reunion just call them cousin. It’s a great catch-all)

Bowling

We met up with family after church for my Uncle’s birthday. It was a lot of fun to bowl with our family and we all bowled pretty decent games. I don’t know how, but Noah ended up with a 3 pin split.

Memorial Day-9 Months

This Saturday marked the 9 month anniversary of my Dad’s death. We brought flowers to his gravesite and reflected on our times with him. In some ways it seems like time has flown…we’re almost halfway through this year already…. but in other ways it seems like last fall was years ago.

The cemetery is called “Pleasant Meadows” and the views from this hill is amazing. Plus, it’s only a few miles from our house.

Over Memorial Day weekend, we stopped by cemeteries to reflect and remember some of our loved ones. Some have recently gone away, for some it's been years.....visited Kenny's gravesite, Laura's, Courtney's, both sets of grandparents, Aunt Jean's, and several cousins' sites.
This picture of my sister, Laura is from her tombstone. I like how her beautiful eyes can be seen in this pic. Gosh, I miss her!
