Back at Home

We had spent the night at a hotel in Centerville, TN. After going to church we started the 5 hour drive back home. There wasn’t any other incident and we arrived home safely at 9pm.

We’ve been in the middle of renovating the house since late September and the house was under going some changes while we had been gone.

Our friend and professional painter, Ronda, was painting while we were gone so the house looked way different when we got home.

My grandma and her husband had also worked hard while we were gone. They had ripped up all of the vinyl flooring and the underlayment in the kitchen. They’d also moved out the cabinets, disconnected the hallway washroom’s sink, patched a crack in the ceiling, finished drywalling the door downstairs and had also blown off and burned the leaves in the front yard. Knowing that all of this work wasn’t waiting for us made it a lot easier to leave the ocean Smile.

The living room is absolutely full of bookcases, furniture and boxes-and it’s all in the middle of the room so Ronda can get to the walls.

The kitchen has a lot of stuff in it as well-the kitchen table is completely covered and the floor has been stripped down to the plywood.

The hallway bath was stripped of everything on the walls and the vinyl’s been pulled out. The toilet is still hooked up, but the sink doesn’t work.

The bathroom in Benjamin’s room was gutted by Ben and Noah before we left. So, we’re all sharing the shower and sink downstairs and we’ll have to rip out the toilet in the hallway bathroom as well.

It seems a little bit overwhelming to come home to, but it is good to see things getting accomplished.
