Incomplete: <Title Here> (Video)–Throwback Thursday

This video has NEVER been placed online, so you are about to view something that few have ever seen before…and hopefully few will ever see.  

(Below you’ll find a “trailer” for this movie that we posted on this blog over four years ago.)

This incomplete, nameless movie was filmed in July of 2010 with the LaMotte brothers and was the last “movie” we ever filmed.  We did some additional filming with the LaMottes to help complete this movie on August 21, 2010.  That evening would be the last time that our Dad would be at our house before he was rushed to the hospital and died a week later.

Don’t see much of a hope for ever finishing this movie, seeing as how we’ve probably all collectively grown four feet taller.

 

Jamming @ the LaMotte’s

   It was great to finally get back together with the LaMotte family!  Nathan, who’s very experienced on the piano, recently picked up the guitar, so it was a lot of fun to bring my guitar over and play together.  Thanks for sharing your blues-style chords with me Nathan!

  Caleb also started learning how to play the ukulele within the last month, so our little acoustic trio played a few songs together.

  We also played a long-expected, mega game of Nerf together.  The darts were flying everywhere!

  Thank you so much, LaMotte family, for such a great, fun evening and for a yummy dinner/dessert!

Hike

Wow, it’s been such a long time since I’ve posted! It’s hard to believe this is the first post of 2012!

  The cold this winter has been so mild that there have been only a few days this year where it actually felt like it was January.  I think we’ve only gotten snow once and it was only an inch or two.

It was because of this weather that we decided to go on a hike this afternoon with some friends.  The trail approx. 3 miles long and goes through the glades in the state park. 

   Again, the weather was so perfect…mid 60s with a light breeze.

Oh, and of course Lydia came along too! She rode in the backpack most of the way, but near the end we let her do some hiking on her own.

Hanging Out with the LaMottes @ Embassy Suites

    We arrived at the St. Charles Convention Center a day early and helped the vendors get their booths set up.  We had a fun time with some of the other boys who were also working and got a good game of Dutch Blitz going with them.  Playing Dutch Blitz is a tradition of our family;  we always play a game at the CHEF Conference.

   One reason why I really enjoyed this year’s conference is because the LaMottes attended the conference with us for their first time.  We also knew a lot of the attendees from the dance lessons we’d taken.

 

Nerf Showdown (Incomplete)

On Monday (Dec 27) we went to the LaMotte’s house and had some awesome dart tag games again.

Later that night we started filming a Nerf commercial, but before we could get all of the filming finished it was time to go. Hopefully next time we’re over at their house we can add more footage or redo the video. I had a lot of fun experimenting with different editing styles and the video ended up being very fast paced and much shorter than it had been on the rough edit.

Backer Board and Tile on the Floor

The installers arrived early this morning and started gluing the concrete board to the floor and then used nail guns to secure the concrete even more.

While the guys continued working on the house we got lunch and also did some shopping for the new sinks and a vanity for the bathrooms.

When we got back to the house the guys had started laying down the tile. The house is really starting to look different and the tile looks great!

We left the house while the installers were packing up to leave for the day. We had a good visit with the LaMotte family!

When we got back to our house we had to enter via the walk-in basement because the mortar is setting up right now.
