Duke of Kent’s Waltz-Christmas Ball 2011
We danced the Duke of Kent's Waltz twice at this year's ball and it was our closing dance. Filmed at the 18th Annual Christmas Ball hosted by CHEF-MO. Called by Jeremy Suermann on December 10, 2011 at St. Francis Xavier Church's Ballroom.
By the way…
…Merry Christmas!
For fun why not click the snowflake on the player above to watch the dance amidst falling snow?

Snow & Flowers
We had snow all day yesterday! I found it interesting that we’d been working throughout the week to get the yard looking nice, but the snow was able to beautify the yard in just a few hour’s time.
Looks like a perfect background

As you can see in this video, a bird got stuck inside of the bird feeder and Benjamin had to rescue him.

Jan 19 More Slick Roads…
…which calls for another car ride video.
We’ve been getting a ton of snow this year, it’s been great-except for the added hazards of driving.
In this video Mom teaches us (or mainly me) a couple things about driving in snowy weather.

Jan 7-Snow on the Roads
My foot felt a better when I woke up, but my Mom wanted to get some X-rays just to make sure that the ankle wasn’t broken. She’s always been adamant that we access our injury to possibly prevent complications down the road.
Speaking of road…the drive to Urgent Care was very beautiful and the snow flakes looked really neat and the snow wasn’t sticking to the road at all.
We were in and out of the urgent care in an hour and a half and after looking at the x-rays the doctor said that I just had a sprained ankle and nothing was broken. My right ankle is immobilized now and will have to stay that way for a couple of weeks. Mom rented crutches for me to use for a couple of days until I can “get back on my feet.”
We picked up my brothers at the house and went to a meeting. However, the snow started coming down really quickly and the roads started looking pretty bad.
Before we started heading home our Grandma called and let us know that the highway was very slick and that there were a lot of cars that had slipped off the road. We waited awhile to allow some time for the roads to be cleared before we went home. There had been a 6 car pile up and a couple of other cars getting towed.

Sledding & Shooting
For Christmas I got a new HD Camcorder that records video onto an SDHC memory card. It has a dual shooting mode that I like so I can take photos while I am filming. I went outside to test how the video looked and how good the photos would look like. It looks like the photos are taken in 16:9 aspect ratio, so it’d require some cropping to get these photos printed.

Christmas Day with Family
Our family had a good Christmas morning at our house and in the afternoon we loaded the car with gifts and food and headed for our family get together. The trees looked so fantastic with the snow!
The roads had all been clear, so traveling wasn’t a problem.
(Left) Lydia’s cousin, “Teddy” Middle, Right) Lydia & Teddy got matching pajamas that were personalized with their names.

We were having a great time, but had to head back towards home. We’ll be having more of the family over on New Year’s Eve for a gift exchange.
