When the last really bad storm came swept through St. Louis that damaged areas of St. Charles, we were eating dinner at a restaurant. I took a few photos out of the window from the booth.
It became very dark
Then the heavy rain and strong winds came
The restaurant evacuated customers from their seats to the kitchen area as it was the safest part of the building
I thought it was very ironic that we were seated next to this film poster!

Tuesday night we were driving back home from Cincinnati when we got caught in the storm and had to exit the highway and wait out the storm. The rain came in torrents and there was some hail as well. After about 2 1/2 hours of waiting we decided we needed to get closer towards home and got back onto the highway. It was 2am before we made it home after battling wet roads and heavy rain.
You may remember that just a few weeks ago a branch fell on our deck and ripped the canopy. Well, on Wednesday we found that another branch had fallen on top of, but not through, the canopy.
Oh yeah, just as an update, Benjamin' has now pumped well over 150 gallons of water from our basement!
We were under a tornado warning for a few hours Sunday night and a few tornadoes touched down in the St. Louis metro area. We had our share of damage when we came out of hiding to see what the wind had done.
On our deck, a large branch had fallen and ripped through the roof of our canopy’s roof. This picture was taken from the roof by Noah

If we weren’t using our outdoor furniture right now for our kitchen table this branch probably would’ve smashed the glass top.
