Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow! What a week! It feels like we’re living in a disaster zone, but thankfully we all have our bedrooms to retreat to.IMG_2566

Ronda has been painting every day this week and put on a second coat tonight.  We’re going for a yellow/gold color since we’re going for a modern-Tuscan style for the living room and kitchen. It took a little while to nail down the color Mom wanted, but we finally got it and it’s been placed up on the walls in a hurry.

Benjamin has gone hunting a couple of days now, but hasn’t seen anything-rumor has it that he’ll be heading to southern Missouri to take part in the antlerless deer season they have down there.

Noah’s been working very hard and stripped off the paint in Benjamin’s bathroom (not really HIS bathroom, but since he has the master bedroom the bathroom adjoins that room.) He also tightened down a few squeaks in the plywood floor by driving in some screws.

Today he tackled the hallway bathroom and pulled out the toilet and sink. The plywood under the toilet was somewhat rotten from water damage, so we’ll have to replace it.

Noah busted out a hole in the floor and then cut out the edge near the joists with a reciprocating saw.

The materials for the flooring (i.e. mortar, grout, concrete board) will be delivered here on Friday on a pallet. It can’t be frozen, but we don’t have any place they can put it where it’s heated so hopefully the temp will stay above 32 over the weekend. On Friday and Saturday we’ll be moving everything out of the living room and kitchen and we’ll also have to move out all of the appliances. Not sure how the next week will be without being able to cook anything…

The installers will be here Monday, but because they have to wait for the material to dry and setup, it’ll take them 6 business days. They’re going to be putting flooring all of the way down the hallway, so I guess Ben & I won’t be able to get to our rooms. Noah can in to his from the window.
