Red Light Camera Protest

This Monday (also St. Valentine’s Day) we joined a couple of other folks at an intersection to protest the red light cameras. We got a lot of support from the car’s horns and we even had a thumb ups from a police officer.

According to MODOT’s reports, at this intersection there has been a 370% increase in accidents since the cameras were installed…yeah, the cameras are in place to save lives and aren’t there for revenue…

Lydia had to do her civic duty!
Haha, I think that she sacraficed the most! Every time she would hear a loud car screech down the road or here a truck's air brakes she would jump up unto my shoulder and start shaking. Plus, as the sun set it started getting pretty cold! We weren't sure if she was shaking because of the cold or if it was because she was scared.
Something funny about this video is that while my Mom was filming she was humming. The road noise was so loud that she didn't even realize it until I loaded the footage on the computer. I had to do some audio editing to cut out the places where she was humming with some audio from some other clip.
