Great pictures - especially the first, third, and sixth from the top, and the sixth from last. :) All of your outfits are wonderful! The WWII styles are so fun... :) How was the ball itself? Enjoyable, presumably... there are plenty of smiling people in the photos you posted, at any rate! Out of curiosity, which dances were done? And was the music at all altered to be more fitting with the 40s style?
@Zoe The ball was fun and went well. There was plenty of space, which was nice. Of course, it always takes longer to teach the dances with the larger group, but most of the attendees caught on pretty quickly. We did English Country Dances that you would be very familiar with and there was nothing changed to make it more 1940's style. (Although, I loved that "In the Mood" was played as everyone entered the ballroom before the dance.) Ah, that is a great video compilation! It's amazing how perfectly the music is synced with the dancing... how in the world did you DO that?!
Ah yes, "In the Mood" would make good beginning music! That's a well-loved tune around here, for a multitude of reasons... :)
We really should have a dance event sometime at which the dance list is filled with all the "classic favorites", but do them to drastically different music - soundtracks, swing dance tunes, contrasting ECD melodies, songs, etc. It would be interesting, to say the least!
