North Carolina Hike

    Josiah and I headed off on our own and trekked up to the top of the hill










    It was a little more dangerous heading back down the hill.
    The rocks were very slick and we both had a scary moment when we slipped and started careening down the rocks.
    Consequently, we took our time.  

    Or as I described in a text I sent to the folks still on the trail:
     "expediency took a backseat to caution."

    Yes, I was later made fun of for sending a text like that. :)

    Loved the pictures! It looks a lot like the Tennessee we enjoyed several years ago...it's beautiful. That stone structure looks neat; a lot like our Fort Bellefontaine washhouse ruins over here near our home. Was it a surprise discovery?
