Power of the Gospel Conference

October 29, 2014 – November 2, 2014
This post is part of a series of posts on our trip to the Creation Museum and North Carolina this fall.

We drove on to North Carolina from the Cincinnati area

We arrived at the conference center where there were plenty of friends to welcome us and help us unload the car

We all hung out that evening and chatted before heading to bed and going on the hike the next morning (see post.)

Joel Beeke

Leading in prayer

It was great to be able to fellowship with friends and listen to the sessions together!

Where the coffee addicts regularly congregated

On one of the evenings we drove into Black Mountain and ate at the “Black Mountain Bistro”

And the three of us were in some very odd moods:

Oblivious

Sinister

Ah…unhappy?  That’s odd when food is involved.

On one of the afternoons, we invited a bunch of friends into our room to have lunch together:

Taco bar

Chatting, eating, sitting wherever you could…

Ashley, Danielle, Brittany, Lydia

Gracelyn & Elly

Ben & Kohen

Out for dinner with some church family.
I think that we were having a discussion on “All God’s Children and Blue Suede Shoes.”

Bryce and Noah

Brittany, Josiah, Ashley

Always-affable Mrs. Bridges

Notice – everyone else has their coats on and are standing near the door. :)

The evenings are always full of fellowship.  There is singing, eating, banjo playing, discussion, and even some dancing happening all over the facility.

It was great to make new friends!  Among others, it was great to meet the Griswolds, Fourniers, and MacAlpines.
Be sure to leave a comment if you were at the conference, so we can keep in touch!

Josiah called many of the dances and did a great job.

Videos from this evening are available on the Stately Steps YouTube channel:

It was also great to learn some new dances from folks all over the country!

Daniele and Mr. Martin

Saying goodbye to friends.

A group shot of the more-dedicated dancers who were the last to leave.

Having dinner together

Well, all good things must come to an end, so we packed up the van and headed home.
